Birds Nest

Birds Nest is a very attractive snacks and kids most favourite. By looking at it people easily get tempted to eat. It is a vegetarian snack, taste very good with any sauce.



Serves-2

Cooking Time-30 mins

Adjust the Ingredients according to the number of people you cook for

Ingredients

For the Nest

Potatoes-2(boiled and mashed)

Onion-1(finely chopped)

Green chilli-1(finely chopped)

Salt-2 tsp

Garam masala-1/2 spoon

Chilli powder-1 spoon

Jeera powder-1/2 spoon

Coriander leaves-few

Bread Crumps-1 cup

Roasted Vermicelli-1 cup

Maida-2 tbsp(diluted in water)

Oil-needed for deep frying

For the eggs in the nest

Rice flour or Kozhukattai flour-3 tbsp

Salt-2 tsp

Oil-1 tsp

Hot water-1 cup

Recipe

To make the nest, Take a bowl, add 2 mashed potatoes, 1 onion(finely chopped), 1 green chilli(finely chopped) and mix well. Add 2 tsp salt, 1/2 spoon garam masala, 1 spoon chilli powder, 1/2 spoon jeera powder and mix all the Ingredients well. Make small balls and flatten it to 1 inch size and press in the centre to keep the eggs. 

Now dip them one by one in the maida batter, roll it in the bread crumbs, again dip in the maida batter and roll it completely in roasted vermicelli. 

Take a kadai, add required oil for deep frying. When the oil gets heated, deep fry the potato balls rolled in vermicelli one by one till golden brown. Fry it in medium flame.

Now the nest for the snacks is ready.

                 Now to make the eggs, take a bowl, add 3 tbsp of rice flour or kozhukattai flour, add 2 tsp salt and mix well. Now add hot water gradually and knead it to a soft dough. Add 1 tsp of oil to the dough to keep it soft and moist.

Now make small balls of the dough to a marble size. Now boil all the balls in a idly plate for 10 mins. After 10 mins, the balls are ready to be placed in the nest. 

               In a plate, place the nest and 3 eggs in the middle of the nest. Now the birds nest recipe is ready to be served. Looks very attractive and appitizing to eat. Serve it with tomato sauce or chilli sauce and enjoy the dish.
