Potato and Onion Bajji with 2 Secret Ingredients for Crispiness

Bajji is one of the South Indian's favourite tea time snacks. It is made using different vegetables according to our wish. It is a very tasty snack usually made in home and tea shops and restaurants. 

Here we are going to see 2 secret ingredients to make crispy bajji. 


Serves-4

Cooking time-15 mins

Adjust the Ingredients according to the number of persons you cook for.

Ingredients:

Bajji mix-200 gms

Idly batter-100 ml

Water-As per requirement

Oil-Needed for frying

Potato-2

Onion-2

Hot oil-2 tsp

Recipe:

Take a Bowl, add 200 gms of Instant Bajji mix. If you don't have bajji mix, add besan powder and rice flour in equal quantities. For crispiness add 100 ml of Idly batter and mix well. Add water gradually and make a thick batter. It should be in dosa batter consistency.

Take a 2 potatoes and 2 onions. Wash the potatoes well and peel the skin completely. Cut them into thin slices in even shape. Peel the skin of the onion and cut them into round slices. Arrange them in a plate and keep it ready for frying.

Take a kadai, Add required oil for frying. After the oil gets heated, add 2 tsp of hot oil to the batter and mix well. This is a 2 nd secret ingredient for crispiness. Dip the potatoes and onion slices in the batter and deep fry them till golden brown in medium flame. After it's fried well, Transfer to a plate and serve hot with any chutneys of your choice.
