Kadai Paneer
Kadai Paneer is a popular paneer based main dish or gravy served with Indian Breads such as Naan, Roti, Pulkas, Rumali roti or chapathi.
It is cooked with special spice powder called the kadai masala.
Let us see how to cook the recipe and its Ingredients.
Serves-3
Cooking Time-20 mins
Adjust the Ingredients according to the number of people you cook for.
Ingredients
To make Spice powder
Red chilli-3
Coriander seeds-1 spoon
Jeera-1 spoon
Pepper-1 spoon
To make Masala powder
Garlic cloves-4
Ginger-1 small piece
Onion-1(finely chopped)
Tomato-1(finely chopped)
Cashew nuts-6
Other Ingredients
Paneer-150 gms
Butter-1 spoon
Oil-2 tbsp
Bay leaf-2
Cinnamon-1
Onion-1(dice shaped)
Capsicum-1(dice shaped)
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Chilli powder-1 spoon
Garam masala-1 spoon
Water-1/2 cup
Salt-1 tsp
Fresh cream-1 spoon
Coriander leaves-few
Recipe
To make the dry masala powder, Take a pan, add 3 red chillies, 1 spoon of coriander seeds, 1 spoon cumin seeds and 1 spoon of pepper. Dry roast all the Ingredients without oil. Grind them coarsely in a mixer jar and transfer to a plate.
To make masala paste, Add 1 tbsp of oil and after it gets heated, add 4 garlic cloves, 1 small piece of ginger and saute well. Now add 1 onion(chopped) and saute a little. Add 1 tomato(chopped), 6 cashew nuts and saute till the tomatoes are mushy. Grind them into a fine paste in a mixer jar and transfer to a bowl.
Take a kadai, add 1 spoon of butter, add the whole spices given in the Ingredients, add 1 onion(dice shaped) and 1 capsicum(dice shaped) and saute well. Now add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 spoon of red chilli powder, 1 spoon garam masala and mix well. Now add the grinded masala paste, coarsely grinded spice powder, 1 spoon of salt and 1/2 cup of water and mix well. When it starts to boil add 150 gms of paneer(cut into small cubes) and cook for 2 mins. Add 1 spoon of fresh cream, few coriander leaves and mix gently.
Transfer to a small serving kadai and enjoy the dish with any Indian Breads.
