Bay leaf-2

Cinnamon-2

Star anise-2

Cardomom-2

Recipe

To make the coconut paste, take a mixer jar, add 1 cup of coconut(thinly sliced), 2 tbsp of roasted gram, 5 cloves of garlic, 1 small piece of ginger(chopped), 8 green chillies, 1 spoon of fennel seeds and grind into a fine paste.

To prepare the kurma, take a kadai, add 2 tbsp of groundnut or refined oil, add bay leaf, star anise, cardomom, cinnamon and cloves each 2 and saute slighly. Now add 2 thinly chopped onions and saute it till golden brown. Add 5 cloves of garlic(chopped) and saute well. Then add 1 tomato(finely chopped) and saute well till mushy. Now add rock salt-1 1/2 spoons and mix well.

Add garam masala-1 spoon and grinded coconut paste and mix well.

Note: No need to add any other masalas as it is a plain kurma. Only green chillies should be added for spicyness.

Now add 1 cup of water in the mixer jar and pour it to the kadai. This kurma should not be thin nor thick, should be in a medium consistency so that we can pour it on all breakfast recipes.

Now let it boil for 5 mins till the raw smell of the coconut paste goes. Add few coriander leaves and mix well.

Serve it hot with any Breakfast recipe and enjoy the dish.
